The wise are careful and avoid evil,

Short-tempered people make stupid mistakes,
and schemers are hated.
Patience leads to abundant understanding,
but impatience leads to stupid mistakes.

the rod of their fury will come to an end.

but the wise turn back anger.
Angry people stir up conflict;
hotheads cause much offense.

If you’ve been foolish and arrogant,
if you’ve been scheming,
put your hand to your mouth,
because churning milk makes curds,
squeezing the nose brings blood,
and stirring up anger produces strife.
(Proverbs 30:32-33 CEB)
